NC State Newsstand: Marc Hubbard hired to lead men’s soccer program
NC State’s lone coaching job opening has been filled. The Pack hired Marc Hubbard to lead the red and white’s men’s soccer team on Saturday after nine seasons at New Hampshire.
Hubbard, who is the 10th coach in program history, led his former squad to seven consecutive NCAA tournament appearances since 2017. He holds a 232-52-37 career record, which included a 115-32-21 mark with the Wildcats.
“Marc has led his teams to championships and consistent, sustainable success during his coaching career,” NC State Athletic Director Boo Corrigan said in the announcement. “He prides himself on establishing a team-first culture, which makes him the perfect fit for the Wolfpack. I’m excited about the future of our men’s soccer program under his leadership.”
Hubbard won four America East crowns in his nine seasons at New Hampshire, and the most recent led to a No. 8 seed in this season’s NCAA Tournament. He led the Wildcats to the Sweet 16 this fall, which included a second round win over Syracuse.
The Pack’s newest coach is focused on a locker room culture based on values of teamwork, sacrifice and commitment when he arrives in Raleigh.

“One thing that is non-negotiable for me when building our culture is that I will personally exemplify, instill and breed a collective and caring effort along with a strong commitment to working hard for one another every day,” Hubbard said. “We will understand that good habits will not only shape us into the best soccer players but more importantly the best version of ourselves and ambassadors of the Wolfpack. The team’s success will be a byproduct of this dedication”
Hubbard has helped 20 players earn All-American status during his coaching career, and has coached six MLS Draft picks.
