NC State’s Tuesday afternoon pro day included impressive performances by a few former Wolfpack stars who hope to hear their names called in the 2023 NFL Draft. In addition to a speedy 40-yard-dash time from linebacker Isaiah Moore and an explosive vertical jump from linebacker Drake Thomas, another program legend made an appearance during team drills.
Mike Glennon, who spent five seasons with NC State before launching into a lengthy NFL career, returned to Raleigh to work with wide receiver Thayer Thomas. After Devin Leary transferred to Kentucky, Thomas was looking for a quarterback to work with him as he prepared for the draft. The veteran professional signal-caller was happy to help.
Once the workout concluded, Thomas said Glennon was “perfect” and shared some insight on how his relationship with the quarterback developed.
“I think it says a lot for a veteran NFL player to come back and throw to a receiver,” Thomas said. “I kind of knew when Devin decided to leave and not come out in the draft, I needed to really look and find someone to throw to me, and I’ve been running routes for Mike for years, and it just so happened I’ve done him a lot of favors as far as route running and catching, and I’ve always been there when he’s calling me. So I called him one time, and we kind of made it official back in January that he said he was going to throw with me, and it was great.”

NC State quote of the day
This quote is from three-star athlete Ondre Evans discussing the conversations he had with All-ACC cornerback Aydan White during a recent visit.
“He was just talking about how, the defense, it’s good for corners and how it really helped them and how good of a coach [cornerbacks coach Brian Mitchell] is,” Evans said. “And he was talking about NC State, Raleigh and that area, [and] how good it is down there. It’s comfortable.
“He was just telling me how his experience is at NC State, he’s liking it so far, and I think I will too.”
