NC State Newsstand: Pack continues recruiting rankings climb

NC State football picked up a commitment Friday night from three-star offensive lineman Tyler West. He is the No. 17 commit of the 2024 class and helped the Wolfpack make another jump up the On3 Industry Recruiting Rankings.
Prior to West’s announcement, NC State hovered around the top-40 of the national rankings in the middle of an ACC school logjam. The Pack now sits No. 37 nationally and No. 7 in the ACC. The Wolfpack lineman commit put the program slightly over Pittsburgh and Duke, who are in the same area of the rankings.
On3 considers West the No. 52 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 27 recruit in North Carolina’s 2024 class. He is the third offensive line commit of NC State’s 2024 class, joining three-star prospects Robby Martin and Trent Mitchell. Each of them carry an On3 rating of 88.
NC State holds 5 commitments from prospects who are considered a four-star recruit by at least one recruiting service. That includes Jonathan Paylor and Terrell Anderson, who are both On3 Industry four-star receivers.
Overall, the Wolfpack’s class is shaping up similarly to last year’s, which finished No. 34 nationally and No. 6 in the ACC. A total of 41 percent of this year’s commits are in-state recruits.
