NC State quarterback commit Cedrick Bailey plays for Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep, one of the top high school programs in the nation. The three-star senior signal-caller suited up against Miami (Fla.) Central High Thursday night and put up impressive numbers during a 31-28 win.
Maxpreps ranks Chaminade-Madonna as the No. 5 team in the nation, while Miami Central slotted in at No. 4 going into the game. Bailey threw for 301 yards in the contest, completing 28 of 41 passes for 4 touchdown and 1 interception.
He started the game backed up against his own 1-yard line on the opening drive, but that did not phase him. The quarterback engineered a 99-yard touchdown drive after connecting on 7 of 8 throws for 72 yards.
In addition to his impressive throwing stats, he also extended plays well against a great Miami Central defense and displayed a ton of toughness, taking hits in the pocket and also fighting for extra yards when he scrambled.
Chaminade-Madonna is now 5-0 and building a case as the top high school team in the country this year.
Bailey committed to the Wolfpack in March after his first visit with the Wolfpack. He said the program’s genuine interest helped separate the program from the rest of his offer list, which included Florida State, Louisville and others.
“That’s the biggest thing that led to me committing,” Bailey said earlier this year. “Then, when I came and took the visit, that sealed the deal. Those guys, they reach out to you, they love you.
