The Wolfpacker’s Wednesday morning newsstand

NC State is officially bowl eligible following its 18-point comeback against Virginia Tech— a win that kept the program’s winning streak at Carter-Finley alive and provided some positive momentum heading into its top-25 matchup against Wake Forest.

On Monday and Tuesday, CBS Sports, The Athletic and ESPN all released updated bowl projections as the end of the regular season quickly approaches.

ESPN made two predictions for the Wolfpack from reporters Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach. Bonagura projected NC State to face Utah in the Holiday Bowl, while Schlabach predicted a matchup with Florida in the Gator Bowl.

CBS Sports has NC State slotted into the Duke’s Mayo Bowl for a showdown with Purdue, while The Athletic also has the Wolfpack forecasted to the Charlotte-base bowl against Maryland.

Quote of the day

This quote is from Devin Leary discussing his bond with MJ Morris.

“I know how much he loves football, I know how much this team loves him as a quarterback and loves him as a young guy coming in as a freshman, just embracing everything and wanting to get better. I just kind of took it upon myself to really show him the ropes and really just show him where I went wrong, show him the mistakes that I made throughout my career and how he can kind of prosper off of that and learn from me, as well as the success that I had and know how to handle success too.”
