NC State Newsstand: Updated Wolfpack bowl projections
Coming off of a 48-41 win over Marshall last week, NC State football stands 4-2 on the season, just a couple of wins away from bowl eligibility. The Wolfpack is at the midway point of its season and appears headed for its fourth-consecutive postseason bid.
A variety of media outlets are continuing to release their postseason bowl projections, and all of them included NC State traveling to various cities across the United States. Here are a few highlights from national outlets.
ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach each released their updated projections. Bonagura sent the pack to the Wednesday, Dec. 27, Military Bowl in Annapolis, Maryland. NC State would play Memphis in that matchup. Schlabach continued a consistent trend with the program’s projections over the past few weeks. He put the Wolfpack in the Pinstripe Bowl, which would take place Thursday, Dec. 28. NC State would face off against Rutgers in New York City at Yankee Stadium.
Brett McMurphy from Action Network has the same projection: a matchup between the Scarlet Knights and the Wolfpack in the MLB ballpark.
CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm predicted that NC State will head to Tampa, Florida, to play against Ohio in the Gasparilla Bowl. This game would be one of the earliest on the bowl calendar, taking place Dec. 22.
USA Today’s Erick Smith also put out his updated projections this week. He slotted the Wolfpack into the Sun Bowl against Oregon State. This game would be played in El Paso, Texas, on Dec. 29.
