NC State Newsstand: Where baseball stands in NCAA Tournament bracketology
NC State has four ACC series left before the conference tournament in Charlotte, and the NCAA Tournament bracket projections are starting to take shape around multiple national media outlets.
The Wolfpack, which sits No. 32 in the most recent RPI rankings, was slated to make the tournament as an at-large team by both Baseball America and D1 Baseball this week.
Baseball America had the Wolfpack traveling to overall No. 6-seed Tennessee for the Knoxville Regional. NC State was the second-ranked team in that grouping, set to face Creighton in the first game of the tournament. Bryant was the fourth-seeded team in the region in that projection.
That regional was paired with overall No. 11-seed Oklahoma State, Nebraska, San Diego and Niagara. The winner of each regional would square off in the super regional with a trip to Omaha, Neb., on the line.
While Baseball America had the Pack going to Knoxville, D1 Baseball had other plans for the red and white. Their projection had NC State staying in North Carolina to go to the Greenville regional with overall No. 9-seed East Carolina as the second-ranked team in the grouping.

That regional would also have third-seeded Southern Miss and fourth-seeded Samford. The winner of that quartet would face the winner of the Corvallis regional, hosted by No. 8-seed Oregon State with UC Santa Barbara, Portland and Army.
NC State will host North Carolina for a three-game series beginning Thursday night at Doak Field.
