NC State Newsstand: Wolfpack claim second-most ACC championships in 2023-24 school year
After all of the ACC Tournament championships were handed out, NC State checked in with the second most titles of any team in the league this past school year.
The Wolfpack tallied six conference crowns, the second most in the ACC — UNC finished with six to pace the group. The Wolfpack’s five titles were the fifth most of any Power Conference university. Texas had 15, while UNC and Stanford had nine each, Michigan had seven and Michigan State had six.
NC State won titles throughout the year and it began with women’s cross country. The Wolfpack won its eighth straight ACC title, while it claimed its third straight national title in women’s cross country as well.
After the Wolfpack entered the winter sport season, NC State began to clean up when it came to ACC championships. The red and white won its first men’s basketball tournament since 1983, while it claimed the gymnastics trophy, men’s swim and dive title and its sixth straight wrestling championship.
NC State now owns 151 ACC championships in its history, the fourth most since the conference’s inception in 1953.

Quote of the day
Wolfpack baseball’s time at the ACC Tournament was cut short, but coach Elliott Avent was focused on the Raleigh Regional.
“We hate to be leaving, but we’ll go home, rest up and get some rest,” Avent said. “We’ve got some bumps and bruises, all teams do. We’ll go home, take a couple days off and get focused for the regional. Let’s see if we can’t come out next weekend in a better situation.”
