The Wolfpacker’s Monday morning newsstand

NC State got back to its winning ways Saturday night, coming back from a three-score deficit to extend the program’s winning streak at Carter-Finley Stadium and defeat Virginia Tech 22-21.

The Wolfpack looks like they might have made a significant step forward on offense with MJ Morris under center and, because of that, the team is only a slight underdog to Wake Forest— with the Demon Deacons favored by 3.5 points.

Following the release of the Associated Press Poll, this will be a top-25 matchup with Wake Forest ranked No. 20 and NC State No. 21. The Demon Deacons are coming off of their second loss of the season following a 48-21 loss to Louisville.

Dave Doeren has built a culture of perseverance in Raleigh, and that showed up during the win over Virginia Tech.

Quote of the day

This quote is from Wolfpack quarterback MJ Morris after leading the team to an 18-point comeback with three touchdown passes.

“I feel like a kid in a candy store,” Morris said after the game “I’ve never had this feeling before, first college time. I feel like I got hit by a freight train out there, my body hurts so bad, but I do feel great. I feel happy for this team, I feel happy for myself. We put a lot of work in to get here.”
