TheWolfpacker.com’s Thursday Morning Newsstand

NC State’s 2023 football season kicks off one week from Thursday. Going into the fall, a variety of news outlets released bowl projections, which included the Wolfpack traveling to New York City in a few predictions.

After playing in Charlotte last year for the 2022 Duke’s Mayo Bowl against Maryland, here are the most recent preseason predictions for the program.

ESPN.com’s Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach each released their projections Wednesday. Bonagura slotted NC State into the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe bowl, which will be played Dec. 28 inside Yankee Stadium in New York City. This game would also be a rematch against Maryland after the Terrapins defeated the Wolfpack 16-12 in the Mayo Bowl.

Schlabach projected NC State to the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl, scheduled for Dec. 29 in Jacksonville, Florida. Arkansas is the projected opponent in this potential ACC/SEC clash.

Action Network’s Brett McMurphy also recently released his preseason bowl predictions. NC State landed in the Pinstripe Bowl again, this time for a game against Iowa. Bleacher Report predicted that the Wolfpack will play its postseason game in Yankee Stadium as well, matching up against Illinois.

NC State has been bowl eligible each of the past three season, winning at least 8 games every season in that stretch.
