TheWolfpacker.com’s Friday Morning Newsstand

NC State football’s spring practice is in full spring, and so are the program’s recruiting efforts. The Wolfpack has already secured a pair of commitments for its 2024 class in the past couple of weeks and hopes to continue that momentum this weekend.

On Friday, NC State will welcome four-star class of 2024 Cummings High wide receiver Jonathan Paylor to campus for his tenth unofficial visit with the Pack. He is the second four-star pass catcher to visit this week, joining Grimsley High star Alex Taylor, who stopped by campus Tuesday.

Paylor is strongly considering NC State as he starts to narrow down his recruitment.

“They’ve always been my favorite because they offered when I was very young in the game and, now, it’s like ‘Okay, this is the point where I start making my decision.’ Of course they’re going to be a favorite because they’ve been there a long time,” Paylor told TheWolfpacker.com earlier this year.

Elite class of 2025 Norwood High tight end Gus Ritchey will also stop by campus Friday to check out campus once again. This is his second NC State visit of the year. Ritchey is coming off of visits to Notre Dame and Michigan, and he holds an extremely impressive offer list. With that said, he thinks very highly of the Wolfpack and said the program was near the top of his recruitment in January.

NC State quote of the day

This quote is from Eddie Burk Jr., who coached and trained with NC State commit Asaad Brown II, talking about what the defensive back brings to the Wolfpack program.

“He’s one of the elites, bar none,” Burk said.

“I just think when people actually see him, they’re going to realize ‘Wow, this kid is really, really, really good.’ There’s going to be some people that missed out and are going to get on the train later. That’s okay.”
