The Wolfpacker’s Tuesday Morning Newsstand

NC State women’s basketball climbed another spot in the Associated Press Poll this week, leapfrogging UNC to take the No. 6 spot. This one-spot ascent in the rankings places the Wolfpack just 60 votes shy of its first top-5 ranking of the 2022-23 season.

After North Carolina fell to No. 14 Michigan, losing for the second time this season, the Tar Heels fell 7 spots and helped NC State continue its rise up the poll. The Wolfpack did not play last week, and the team holds an 11-1 record heading into the bulk of conference play.

Notre Dame is directly in front of NC State at No. 5 in the rankings, with No. 7 Virginia Tech and No. 13 UNC rounding out the ACC programs in the top 25. Louisville and Duke also received votes.

Tweets of the day

NC State football has arrived in Charlotte to prepare for Friday’s Duke’s Mayo Bowl.

It looks like NC State spent time relaxing at an arcade after practice Monday.

Check out this highlight-reel play from former Wolfpack wide receiver Jakobi Meyers.

Quote of the day

This quote is from Wolfpack tight end signee Javonte Vereen sharing his thoughts on offensive coordinator Robert Anae.

“I know what he can do with tight ends,” Vereen said. “I’m very confident that, with me, I can no doubt be a first-team ACC, All-American tight end. He went back-to-back with those tight ends, and he can do it with me too.”
