Following a historic performance in her first career start, NC State point guard Zoe Brooks took home an ACC freshman of the week award. She recorded a triple-double, the second in Wolfpack history, and took home the conference accolade as a result.

NC State stands 10-0 on the season and ranks third in the Associated Press top-25. Brooks is frequently the first player off the bench for the Pack but made her first start during Sunday’s 80-67 win over Liberty because junior guard Saniya Rivers missed the game due to injury.

During the program’s win over the Flames at Reynolds Coliseum, the guard scored 14 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out 10 assists. This was the program’s first triple-double since Tynesha Lewis recorded one in 2001 against UNC.

In addition to the scoring, rebounding and passing, Brooks recorded 3 steals, blocked 2 shots and turned the ball over twice.

“She did a great job of running the team, and for the most part, taking care of the ball,” head coach Wes Moore said. “And then she goes in there and gets 11 rebounds, she leads us in rebounds. … Just a great all-around game.”

Per the Wolfpack’s press release, Brooks is 1 of 11 players nationally to record a triple-double this season. This was her first time accomplishing this statistical feat in college after doing so earlier in her basketball career.

“In college, obviously a triple-double is a lot bigger than middle school or high school,” Brooks said. “So, it was very exciting.”

Through 10 games this season, she is averaging 9.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
