NC State nickel Isaiah Crowell has ‘dream come true’ making impact on Pack’s defense
NC State redshirt sophomore nickel Isaiah Crowell hails from a football family. His two older brothers, Germane Jr. and Micah played collegiately at Virginia and NC State, while their father, Germane, spent five seasons as an NFL wide receiver. Crowell has been surrounded by top-level football talent his entire life, which paid dividends for himself. When things aren’t going well, he can lean on that trio. But he can do the same when he finds success too. And for his first two seasons at NC State, Crowell’s action was limited. He redshirted the 2022 season with just four special teams snaps. Last year, Crowell made it into just two games — against VMI and Kansas State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl — on special teams. This season, however, has been a different story. Crowell earned his way onto the Pack’s starting kickoff units, which helped him adjust to the game speed on a weekly basis. That, in a way, helped him stay prepared for the event he could crack the rotation on defense.
