NC State OT Anthony Belton selected by Green Bay Packers in second round of NFL Draft

NC State’s offensive line room has been littered with NFL talent over the last few years. There was tackle Ikem Ekwonu, the sixth-overall pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2022, while guard Chandler Zavala and center Dylan McMahon have each heard their name on day three in the past two years.
Now, tackle Anthony Belton can join that elite group.
The 6-foot-6, 336-pound tackle that moves well enough to earn the nickname “Escalade” was selected by the Green Bay Packers with the 54th overall pick in the second round on Friday night.
Belton is now the 30th Wolfpack player to hear their name called in the NFL Draft in Dave Doeren’s 12 seasons at the helm of the program. Of those near three dozen draftees, Belton is the seventh on the offensive line.
The Tallahassee, Fla., native anchored NC State’s offensive line this past season. He allowed just 12 quarterback pressures — leading to just three sacks — in 741 total snaps played. The tackle impressed down the stretch of the season as he didn’t allow CJ Bailey to hit the turf in each of the last four weeks.

Belton was an All-ACC Third Team selection during the 2023 season as he gave up just two sacks on 22 quarterback pressures allowed. He was tasked with filling Ekwonu’s shoes in 2022 after he sat behind the first-round talent in his first campaign with the Pack in 2021.
Ahead of his arrival in Raleigh, Belton spent two years — including the COVID-19 affected season in 2020 – at Georgia Military College, where he earned All-American honors. He exited the junior college ranks as the No. 5 tackle from that level in the 2021 recruiting cycle.
Now, after his six seasons working his way through the college ranks, Belton is set to begin his professional career as an NFL draft pick.
