NC State signee Trey Parker continues to grow after returning to Overtime Elite
With his team up multiple possessions in the final minute, NC State signee Trey Parker didn’t stop playing with intensity for Overtime Elite Cold Hearts his John Wall Holiday Invitational debut on Friday night at Broughton High in Raleigh. Parker guarded the in-bounds pass, but when it was able to get in play, he dove towards the ball in front of his team’s bench to battle for a loose ball. He knocked the ball out of bounds, and when he realized that, he smacked the floor. He was that close to his eighth steal. That’s right — he had seven steals. Oh, and he did it with NC State coach Kevin Keatts and a pair of assistants, Levi Watkins and Kareem Richardson, sitting courtside to watch their incoming freshman guard. While Parker, an electric guard with high-flying capabilities, impressed on both ends of the floor with 17 points and seven steals, it wasn’t an act for his future coach. That’s the way the Fayetteville, N.C., native plays, and he was able to provide a glimpse of that at the prestigious high school basketball tournament just 5.5 miles from his future home at PNC Arena.
