NC State vs. Virginia game notes
*** This will be the 155th all-time meeting between the two historic basketball programs. NC State leads the all-time series 85-69, but Virginia has won seven of its last eight games against the Pack inside PNC Arena.
*** NC State is 2-0 to start ACC play for the first time since the 2020-21 season, and a win against Virginia would give the Wolfpack its first 3-0 opening to league play since 2012-13. Both of the red and white’s ACC wins so far have come on the road, which is the first time the team has done that to start conference play since the 2011-12 campaign.
*** Graduate guard Casey Morsell is 9 points away from scoring his 1,000th career point. He began his collegiate career at Virginia, where he scored 220 points in 53 games. Since he arrived in Raleigh, Morsell has logged 771 points in 77 games with the Wolfpack.
