– This is the 33rd all-time meeting between the Pirates and Wolfpack, and just the second in the postseason. ECU beat NC State 37-34 in the 1992 Peach Bowl in Atlanta. The Pack holds a 19-13 lead in the all-time series. Both squads will open the 2025 season against each other inside Carter-Finley Stadium.

– The Wolfpack has won the last three meetings against ECU, including a 21-20 win over the Pirates on Sept. 3, 2022. Doeren is 3-2 against ECU during his coaching career, including one of only two home non-conference losses in his career at Carter-Finley Stadium (42-28 loss during the 2013 campaign).
