NC State wide receiver Terrell Timmons Jr. to enter transfer portal

NC State wide receiver Terrell Timmons Jr. officially announced his intention to enter the transfer portal Friday morning. The sophomore played a significant role in the Pack’s pass-catching rotation this fall.
He is the No. 14 player overall and the third wide receiver to declare his intentions to transfer. Timmons caught 11 passes for 195 yards during his second season with the program but will look for a new collegiate home for his final two seasons of eligibility.
Wolfpack wide receivers Porter Rooks and Anthony Smith declared their intentions to transfer earlier this week.
The 6-2, 195 pound pass catcher from Greensboro, North Carolina, announced his decision on social media.
“Thank you WPN and the enter NC State football coaching staff, trainers and fan base,” Timmons wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “To my teammates and brothers, I will never forget you guys and our brotherhood can never be broken! I have decided to enter the transfer portal and trusting Jesus Christ to order my steps and direct my path.”
He caught a season-high 3 passes against Louisville this fall, racking up 71 yards. Timmons recorded at least one reception in 7 of the Wolfpack’s 12 games this season. Before the Wolfpack’s bye week, the receiver played at least 15 snaps in every contests and as many as 32 against Duke. Following the open date, he logged no more than 13 snaps.

Timmons carved out a role in NC State’s wide receiver rotation during the second half of his freshman season in 2022, burning his redshirt after catching 3 passes for 79 yards, averaging 26.3 yards per reception. He also scored a critical touchdown against UNC in the regular season finale.
The receiver signed with the Wolfpack as a three-star prospect from Northern Guilford High in the 2022 class. On3 considered him the No. 121 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 20 prospect in North Carolina.
Based on TheWolfpacker.com’s count, the wide receiver’s decision to transfer brings NC State down to 78 scholarships for the 2024 season once the 20 Wolfpack prep commits officially join the program. Timmons joins the following players who have also announced their intentions to transfer.
