No. 3 NC State women’s basketball is back in action after its holiday break, and it opens up ACC play at Virginia on New Year’s Eve. 

The Wolfpack enter the contest 12-0, undefeated through non-conference play for the fifth time in program history, the fourth under coach Wes Moore. Virginia, meanwhile, is 8-3 in year two under coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton

The game will be broadcast on the ACC Network.

*** This is the 83rd all-time meeting between the two programs, and it is split evenly at a 42-42 mark since the first game in the 1974-1975 season. 

*** NC State is 9-3 under Moore against Virginia, but it lost in its last trip to Charlottesville, a 71-59 defeat at John Paul Jones Arena in February. 

*** Since freshman guard Zoe Brooks entered the starting lineup in place of an injured Saniya Rivers, she has dazzled. Brooks logged her first-career triple double in her first start and has averaged 13.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game over the last three starts.
