NC State women’s basketball released its 2023-2024 non-conference schedule Tuesday morning. The Wolfpack will play 13 contests outside of the ACC before diving into its always challenging conference slate.

After finishing last season 20-12 with a Round of 64 NCAA Tournament exit, NC State heads into season No. 11 of Wes Moore’s tenure with a retooled roster. The Pack starts its season with four games at Reynolds Coliseum— the home venue where the program finished 12-3 during its 2022-2023 campaign.

Catawba travels to Raleigh for a Nov. 2 exhibition game before Charlotte does the same Nov. 7 to officially kick off the season. Then, NC State welcomes UConn to Reynolds Nov. 12 for the marquee matchup of the non-conference schedule. Connecticut hosted the Wolfpack last year and won 91-69, so this showdown presents the program an opportunity to finish the home-and-home series 1-1.

Matchups with Elon and then Rhode Island, who finished 2023 as of the Atlantic-10’s top programs with a 26-7 record, follow before NC State travels to the U.S. Virgin Islands for the Paradise Jam Tournament. The Pack will play Kentucky, Cincinatti and Colorado in consecutive days from Nov. 23-25.

Both the Wildcats and the Bearcats finished last season under .500, but the Buffs were one of the top teams in the nation and made it to the 2023 NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16 as a No. 6 seed before losing to Iowa.

The Wolfpack then returns to Reynolds for an ACC/SEC challenge matchup with Vanderbilt Nov. 29. December showdowns with Illinois State and Liberty round out the home slate before NC State wraps up the non-conference schedule with a matchup against USF on the road. The Pack defeated the Bulls in 2022 at home, and USF went on to make the NCAA tournament as a No. 8 seed and finish the year with a 27-7 record.

After losing four members of its starting lineup to graduation and the transfer portal, Diamond Johnson, Jakia Brown-Turner, Jada Boyd and Camille Hobby, the Wolfpack will have to replace a lot of production. Katie Peneueta and Lizzy Williamson joined the program as transfers, and they will add a lot of experience to NC State’s rotation this season.

The pack also signed a talented prep recruiting class, headlined by five-star point guard Zoe Brooks.

Per the GoPack.com press release, the ACC will announce its women’s basketball schedule “in the coming weeks.” NC State will host Duke, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Syracuse, Virginia and Wake Forest next season.
