NC State women's basketball remains in AP Poll top-10
NC State women’s basketball finished the past week with one win and one loss, dropping in the Associated Press Poll as a result. The Wolfpack fell from No. 4 to No. 7 in the most recent top-25 released Monday.
After losing to Miami on the road and picking up a win over Duke at home, the program maintained its top-10 standing with a two-game road trip on the horizon. The Pack received 646 points in the poll, 49 behind No. 6 Stanford and 11 ahead of No. 8 UConn. NC State now stands 16-2 on the season with a 4-2 record in the ACC.
The Wolfpack struggled to guard the Hurricanes and shot 28.1 in its 73-59 setback, but the team bounced back by defending Reynolds Coliseum against the Blue Devils. Duke came into the game after upsetting Virginia Tech, but 33 points from junior guard Aziaha James, a new career high, helped carry NC State to its 72-57 win.

Looking forward, NC State travels to Clemson Thursday, Jan. 25, before another road showdown with Boston College Jan. 28. The Pack’s next home game is a prime-time Thursday night clash against UNC, scheduled for Feb. 1 at 8 p.m. ET.
A total of seven ACC programs made the top-25 as well. The Wolfpack remains the highest-ranked conference squad with No. 15 Notre Dame, No. 18 Louisville, No. 19 Virginia Tech, No. 20 North Carolina, No. 22 Syracuse and No. 23 Florida State all making the poll as well.
