Saniya Rivers-2
N.C State's Saniya Rivers (22) reacts after scoring against North Carolina during the second half. The N.C. State Wolfpack and the North Carolina Tar Heels met in a regular-season game in Raleigh, N.C., on Feb. 1, 2024.

NC State women’s basketball continued its ascent up the Associated Press Poll Monday afternoon after another undefeated week. The Wolfpack, standing 19-2 on the season and 7-2 in the ACC, slotted in at No. 3 in the most recent top-25.

Over the past week, the Pack added another ranked victory to its resume, taking down No. 24 UNC 63-59 at home. The program is establishing itself as a solid contender for a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, and the AP Poll also recognized the program with a ranking that ties its highest mark of the 2023-2024 campaign. NC State ranked No. 3 for 5-consecutive weeks earlier this season.

The Wolfpack is on a 4-game winning streak that includes a couple of road wins over Boston College and Clemson. NC State plays 2 of its toughest home games of the season this week, matching up against No. 15 Louisville and No. 16 Virginia Tech in the span of 4 days. Then, the program travels to Pittsburgh Feb. 11.

With the Cardinals competing Monday night in the Pack’s annual Play4Kay game with an 8-1 conference record, this will be program’s first opportunity to knock off the ACC’s No. 1 team. Virginia Tech stands alone at No. 2 in the ACC standings as well. The Hokies handed NC State its only ranked loss of the season.
