NC State's coaching staff continuity pays off, contract extension details
In an age of constant movement in college football among players via the transfer portal, a similar situation takes place within coaching staffs too. It is not uncommon for full-time assistants to bounce around just as easily — either to other programs around the country or to the NFL. But NC State’s coaching staff, however, has not experienced that in the past two years. Dave Doeren, who is in his 12th season at the helm of the Pack, has replaced just two assistants in the past two years: offensive coordinator and offensive line. Outside of those two positions, which he brought in Robert Anae and Garret Tujague for, Doeren has kept a core of seven assistant coaches for at least the past five seasons. NC State’s coaching staff, and its ability to stay intact, has resulted in a crew that has a combined 62 years with the Pack — the third-longest tenured staff in the ACC behind Florida State and Wake Forest.
