NC State's Trey Parker plans to enter transfer portal

NC State rising sophomore guard Trey Parker plans to enter the transfer portal, he told On3’s Joe Tipton on Friday afternoon.
The Fayetteville, N.C., native is the seventh departure since Kevin Keatts was fired. He joins forwards Ben Middlebrooks, Dennis Parker Jr. and Ismael Diouf, as well as guards Bryce Heard, Marcus Hill and Mike James in the portal. NC State has eight available scholarships for the 2025-26 season.
With Parker’s departure, rising sophomore guard Paul McNeil Jr. is the only returning scholarship player that newly-hired coach Will Wade has at his disposal. McNeil, a former top-60 recruit in the class of 2024, has already confirmed he will spend his second season of college basketball with the Pack.
Parker averaged 4.6 points with 1.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 27 appearances, including one start, as a freshman with the Wolfpack. He shot 41 percent from the field, including 35.7 percent from 3-point distance in his lone season at NC State.
