Pack Pros: LB Vi Jones sets new career-high tackles mark with Buccaneers

After starting the season on the practice squad, Pack Pro linebacker Vi Jones has emerged as a rotational player for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It paid off with a career-best showing against the Las Vegas Raiders. 

Jones, who is in his second season in the NFL, logged five total tackles, including three solo stops, in the Buccaneers’ 28-13 win over the Raiders. He played a season-best 59 total snaps in the victory, including a career-high 36 on defense. 

While Jones had a standout performance for the Buccaneers, he wasn’t the only Pack Pro in action. Here’s a look at how the rest of NC State’s NFL players fared in their respective games this past week.

Pack Pros in the NFL: Week 14

C Garrett Bradbury (played at NC State from 2015-18), #56 Minnesota Vikings: Bradbury logged 60 total snaps in the Vikings’ 42-21 win over the Atlanta Falcons. 

QB Jacoby Brissett (2014-15), #14 New England Patriots: The Patriots were on bye this week.

OLB Bradley Chubb (2014-17), #2 Miami Dolphins: Chubb is on the Dolphins’ injured reserve.

P A.J. Cole III (2015-18), #6 Las Vegas Raiders: Cole logged four punts for 177 yards in the Raiders’ 28-13 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He had an average of 44.3 yards per attempt with a long of 51 yards in the defeat.

DT Cory Durden (2021-22), #98 Los Angeles Rams:.Durden is on the Rams’ practice squad. 

OT Ikem Ekwonu (2019-21), #79 Carolina Panthers: Ekwonu played 74 total snaps in the Panthers’ 22-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

P Trenton Gill (2018-21) #47 Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Gill is on the Buccaneers’ practice squad.

WR Kelvin Harmon (2016-18), #84 Dallas Cowboys: Harmon is on the Cowboys’ practice squad. 

DL B.J. Hill Jr. (2014-17), #92 Cincinnati Bengals: Hill logged three total tackles, including one sack, in the Bengals’ 27-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. He also had two quarterback hits in the victory.

RB Nyheim Hines (2015-17), #22 Cleveland Browns: Hines will not play this season as he recovers from a jet ski accident suffered in July 2023. 

S Tanner Ingle (2018-22), #34 Los Angeles Rams: Ingle is on the Rams’ practice squad.

DT Justin Jones (2014-17), #93 Arizona Cardinals: Jones was placed on the Cardinals’ injured reserve with a triceps injury. He will miss the rest of the season to recover.

LB Vi Jones (2019-21), #53 Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jones recorded five total tackles, including three solo stops, in the Buccaneers’ 28-13 win over the Las Vegas Raiders and fellow Pack Pros Jakobi Meyers and A.J. Cole. 

CB Robert Kennedy III (2023), #40 Los Angeles Chargers: Kennedy is on the Chargers’ practice squad for the 2024 season. 

DT T.Y. McGill Jr. (2011-14), #96 San Francisco 49ers: McGill is on the 49ers’ practice squad for the 2024 season. 

C Dylan McMahon (2019-23), #63 Los Angeles Rams: McMahon did not play in the Rams’ 44-42 win over the Buffalo Bills.

DT Alim McNeill (2018-20), #54 Detroit Lions: McNeill made one tackle in the Lions’ 34-31 win over the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football. 

WR Jakobi Meyers (2016-18), #16 Las Vegas Raiders: Meyers logged seven catches for 68 yards to lead the Raiders in receiving in the team’s 28-13 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was targeted nine times and had a long of 29 yards in the defeat.

DT Larrell Murchison (2018-19), #52 Los Angeles Rams: Murchison is currently on injured reserve.

LB Germaine Pratt (2014-18), #57 Cincinnati Bengals: Pratt recorded seven total tackles, including three solo stops, in the Bengals’ 27-20 win over the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. He also added a pass defended in the victory.

DE James Smith-Williams (2016-19), #50 Atlanta Falcons: Smith-Williams did not play in the Falcons’ 42-21 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

DL Kentavius Street (2014-17), #75 Atlanta Falcons: Street made one tackle in the Falcons’ 42-21 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. 

WR Thayer Thomas (2017-22), #89 Minnesota Vikings: Thomas is on the Vikings practice squad. 

LB Drake Thomas (2019-22), #42 Seattle Seahawks: Thomas played 20 total snaps, all on special teams, in the Seahawks’ 30-18 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

OL Joe Thuney (2012-15), #62 Kansas City Chiefs: Thuney played 74 total snaps in the Chiefs’ 19-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football. 

LB Payton Wilson (2018-23), #41 Pittsburgh Steelers: Wilson made four total tackles, including one for a loss, in the Steelers’ 27-14 win over the Cleveland Browns.

QB Russell Wilson (2007-09, finished at Wisconsin), #3 Pittsburgh Steelers: Wilson was 15-of-26 passing for 158 yards with two touchdowns in the Steelers’ 27-14 win over the Cleveland Browns. He was sacked just once in the victory.

OL Chandler Zavala (2021-22), #62 Carolina Panthers: Zavala played 10 total snaps in the Panthers’ 22-16 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
