Pack Pros: QB Russell Wilson leads Pittsburgh Steelers to another win

After NC State Pack Pro quarterback Russell Wilson impressed in his debut with the Pittsburgh Steelers last week, he continued to dazzle in his second start. The signal-caller paced the Steelers to a 26-18 win over the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. 

Wilson was efficient in the pocket as he went 20-of-28 passing for 278 yards with a touchdown in the second straight win at the helm of the Pittsburgh offense.

While Wilson helped the Steelers to another win, he wasn’t the only Pack Pro in action this past weekend. Here’s a look at all of NC State’s former players in the NFL during Week 8.

OLB Bradley Chubb (2014-17), #2 Miami Dolphins: Chubb is on the Dolphins’ injured reserve.

P A.J. Cole III (2015-18), #6 Las Vegas Raiders: Cole logged two punts for 128 total yards, an average of 64 yards per attempt, in the Raiders’ 27-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He had a kick inside the 20-yard line with a touchback and a long fo 68 yards in the defeat.

DT Cory Durden (2021-22), #98 Los Angeles Rams:.Durden is on the Rams’ practice squad. 

OT Ikem Ekwonu (2019-21), #79 Carolina Panthers: Ekwonu played 51 total snaps in the Panthers’ 28-14 loss to the Denver Broncos. He allowed four quarterback pressures, including three hurries and a sack, in the defeat.

P Trenton Gill (2018-21) #47 Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Gill is on the Buccaneers practice squad. 

WR Kelvin Harmon (2016-18), #84 Dallas Cowboys: Harmon is on the Cowboys’ practice squad. 

DL B.J. Hill Jr. (2014-17), #92 Cincinnati Bengals: Hill logged six total tackles in the Bengals’ 37-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. The defensive lineman recorded four solo stops in teh loss. 

RB Nyheim Hines (2015-17), #22 Cleveland Browns: Hines is still recovering from his season-ending injury suffered last year. 

S Tanner Ingle (2018-22), #34 Los Angeles Rams: Ingle is on the Rams’ practice squad.

DT Justin Jones (2014-17), #93 Arizona Cardinals: Jones was placed on the Cardinals’ injured reserve with a triceps injury. He will miss the rest of the season to recover.

LB Vi Jones (2019-21), #53 Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jones is on the Buccaneers’ practice squad for the 2024 season.

CB Robert Kennedy III (2023), #40 Los Angeles Chargers: Kennedy is on the Chargers’ practice squad for the 2024 season. 

DT T.Y. McGill Jr. (2011-14), #96 San Francisco 49ers: McGill is on the 49ers’ practice squad for the 2024 season. 

C Dylan McMahon (2019-23), #63 Los Angeles Rams: McMahon did not play in the Rams’ 30-20 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

DT Alim McNeill (2018-20), #54 Detroit Lions: McNeill recorded two total tackles, both solo stops, in the Lions’ 52-14 win over the Tennessee Titans. He also had a tackle for a loss in the Lions’ sixth win of the season.

WR Jakobi Meyers (2016-18), #16 Las Vegas Raiders: Meyers caught six passes for 52 yards and a touchdown in the Raiders’ 27-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He had a long of 17 yards on seven targets in the defeat.

DT Larrell Murchison (2018-19), #52 Los Angeles Rams: Murchison is currently on the injured reserve.

LB Germaine Pratt (2014-18), #57 Cincinnati Bengals: Pratt recorded nine total tackles in the Bengals’ 37-14 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Pratt logged four solo stops in the defeat.

DE James Smith-Williams (2016-19), #50 Atlanta Falcons: Smith-Williams logged four tackles, including two solo stops, in the Falcons’ 31-26 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 

DL Kentavius Street (2014-17), #75 Atlanta Falcons: Street was inactive for the Falcons’ 31-26 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 

WR Thayer Thomas (2017-22), #89 Minnesota Vikings: Thomas is on the Vikings practice squad. 

LB Drake Thomas (2019-22), #42 Seattle Seahawks: Thomas did not appear in the Seahawks’ 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills. 

OL Joe Thuney (2012-15), #62 Kansas City Chiefs: Thuney played 72 snaps in the Chiefs’ 27-20 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. He did not allow a quarterback pressure for the second straight week in the win.

LB Payton Wilson (2018-23), #41 Pittsburgh Steelers: Wilson logged three tackles in the Steelers’ 26-18 win over the New York Giants. He had one solo stop with two quarterback hits in the victory.

QB Russell Wilson (2007-09, finished at Wisconsin), #3 Pittsburgh Steelers: Wilson was 20-of-28 passing for 278 yards with a touchdown in the Steelers’ 26-18 win over the New York Giants. He logged a 114.9 passer rating in the victory, while he was sacked just four times in the victory.
