NC State kicks off its 2023 season against UConn Thursday, Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m. EST. This is the season-opening contest for both squads and their first opportunities to debut new quarterbacks under center.

The two squads faced off during the 2022 season, with the Pack defending home turf with a 41-10 win. From there, the Huskies turned their season around and finished the year 6-7. NC State wrapped up its 2022 campaign 8-5.

Before the first game of the year officially begins, here are some live updates from the pregame warmups at Pratt and Whitney Stadium.

Redshirt sophomore Travali Price looks like to start for NC State in Jackson’s place.

One starter is not in uniform for warmups: super senior defensive end Savion Jackson. Jackson was hoping to make his return from a torn ACL suffered midway through last year.

NC State taking the field for the first time in uniforms. Of note, redshirt sophomore guard Lyndon Cooper, an expected starter who has been ruled out for game one, is dressed out. Cooper is expected to be ready for Week 2 vs. Notre Dame.

The Wolfpack has arrived for pregame warmups. A few players just walked out of the tunnel and walked a lap around the field.

The UConn athletes are out on the field for initial warmups. Scouts from numerous NFL teams, including the San Fransisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings and others are all here.

Over 2 hours from kickoff, UConn fans are already tailgating and the lots are about 50 percent full. There are also some Wolfpack fans here tailgating.
