Shawn Phillips Jr. announces his decommitment from NC State
In a statement provided to On3, NC State basketball recruiting signee Shawn Phillips Jr. confirms he has received his release from his letter of intent and is decommitted from the Wolfpack.
“I would first like to say thanks to Coach Keatts and the staff for recruiting me and giving me the opportunity to play at NC State,” Phillips said. “Thanks also to the fans and everyone who gave endless support throughout this time. But due to recent staff changes, I will be decommitting from NC State and re-opening my recruitment. Time to find a new home.”
Phillips’ primary recruiter at NC State was assistant Mike Summey, who was one of two coaches let go following the season.
The 7-foot, 250-pound Phillips chose the Pack in September over offers from Ole Miss and West Virginia.
