The Wolfpacker Podcast: NC State vs. Connecticut preview
After an highly-energized win over Texas Tech last Saturday at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, NC State football is preparing for the final non-conference game of the regular season in 2022. The Wolfpack will host Connecticut in a game that is, somewhat similarly to when NC State hosted Charleston Southern on Sept. 10, perhaps more about the Pack than the opponent.
With host Justin H. Williams, The Wolfpacker’s Matt Carter dive into the NC State-Connecticut game from multiple angles in our weekly opponent preview podcast episode, which can be seen and heard below.

Among the many topics discussed:
• In a segment called “Upon Further Review,” Justin and Matt look back at the 27-14 home win over Texas Tech last Saturday. NC State rose up to No. 11 in the coaches poll and No. 12 in the Associated Press version after that victory.
Were there any changes in the takeaways from that game after looking back? What is to make of the performance on offense after hearing from both NC State football head coach Dave Doeren and offensive coordinator Tim Beck during the week?
• A synopsis of Connecticut, including perhaps the one position group for the Huskies that may be most prominent on an otherwise likely overmatched team, especially after a rash of injuries to start the year for UConn.
On Saturday at NC State, Connecticut will be without planned starters at quarterback and running back.
• An explanation for why the best way to look at this game from a NC State perspective is by comparing the performance Saturday with that against Charleston Southern earlier in the year. Furthermore, why this represents a final chance to get certain things right before the ACC schedule.

• A quick look at the weekend rooting guide for NC State football fans who would like to see the Wolfpack featured on the ESPN College GameDay location on Saturday, Oct. 1 at Clemson. The Tigers have their own tough ACC road showdown Saturday at Wake Forest, and a certain SEC game this weekend will also probably be a determining factor for GameDay.
