NC State football might have finalized its 2024 roster during the past week. The Wolfpack secured three transfer portal commitments from three visitors, addressing multiple positions of need with veteran players who can make an instant impact.

Akron safety Kerry Martin Jr., Colorado defensive lineman Chazz Wallace and Ohio State safety Ja’Had Carter are all expected to make their moves to Raleigh this week and officially join the program for its first summer session.

Class of 2025 three-star safety Tristan Teasdell also committed to the Pack earlier this month.

TheWolfpacker.com used this recent run of recruiting momentum as an opportunity to launch its new YouTube show! Throughout June’s official visit season and beyond, recruiting analyst Ethan McDowell will break down the latest news around NC State football recruiting on our channel.

From watching film on recent commits, projecting the roles of incoming transfer portal players and interviewing recruits, coaches and more, The Wolfpacker Recruiting Show will be a one-stop shop to stay updated on everything that’s happening around the program.

In this inaugural episode, Ethan discussed the following topics:

*** Then, Ethan explained his thoughts on each of the incoming commits in reverse chronological order of their respective decisions, starting with Carter. He shared why the safety’s production dropped off at Ohio State. While watching some film from Carter’s time at Syracuse, he broke down why people should still be very excited about what the versatile defensive back brings to the Wolfpack.

*** Ethan also talked about Wallace — a quick, disruptive nose tackle who fits exactly what the Pack was looking for. He will add competition to that position group and, at a minimum, will be a productive backup who should play plenty of snaps.

*** After a quick break to thank our sponsor Gametime, Martin was the next subject of discussion. The former Akron defensive back should be able to play either safety spot in Raleigh. Ethan wrapped up the episode by watching some highlights from Teasdell — a hard-hitting safety from Virginia who committed to the Pack after one visit.
