NC State officially began its fall camp practice schedule last week, the first step toward kickoff of the 2024 college football season. The ACC Network is traveling all over the country this month and stopping by each school in the program to interview coaches, talk to the players and watch practice.

Eric Mac Lain is a part of that crew, and he joined The Wolfpacker Show with Noah Fleischman and Ethan McDowell this week to talk about his experience in Raleigh. The ACC Network media personality is also a former all-conference first team offensive lineman for Clemson. He is the winningest player in the Tigers’ history according to his university bio.

Mac Lain is a critical part of the ACC Network’s analyst team and also co-hosts the Gramlich & Mac Lain podcast.

In this episode of The Wolfpacker Show….

*** The hosts welcomed Mac Lain to the pod. He spent a day with the Wolfpack last week, taking in an up-close impression of the program during one of its first practices. Mac Lain will spend this entire month on the road and broke down his packed travel schedule.

*** Then, he dove into his impression of the Pack. Before this trip, he still viewed the program as a potential conference contender, and this day on campus only reinforced those feelings. He was already optimistic about NC State because of how well the program did in the transfer portal this year.

*** He also heaped huge praise on the Wolfpack wide receiver corps, starting with sophomore superstar with KC Concepcion. Graduate left tackle Anthony Belton also impressed Mac Lain.

*** The hosts also talked to Mac Lain about the defense and how motivated they are to prevent a drop off from last year and then asked for his potential X-factor players on this season’s squad.

*** To wrap up the show, Ethan and Noah discussed some of the buzz around a true freshman standout for the Wolfpack.
