The Wolfpacker Show: NC State defeats UNC in Chapel Hill thriller
NC State improved to 6-6 with a win over North Carolina Saturday evening, ending the Mack Brown era in Chapel Hill after the offense scored 22 fourth-quarter points. The Wolfpack’s win over the Tar Heels means more than any other contest on the schedule, and the team embraced that.
In a season that did not come close to meeting preseason expectations, NC State still managed to extend its winning streak over North Carolina. Head coach Dave Doeren and the players did not shy away from how much they care about this rivalry after the game.
Thanks to a standout performance from the offensive line against one of the best defensive fronts in the conference, the Pack rushed for 220 yards. NC State won the time of possession battle by more than 11 minutes and ensured that some Tar Heels will graduate from the university without a win over their bitter in-state rival.
After the game and the ensuing brawl at midfield, The Wolfpacker Show hosts Ethan McDowell and Noah Fleischman sat down to share their thoughts on the win. It’s been a pretty bleak podcast in recent weeks, but this episode was full of optimism for the future.
