NC State wraps up its winter transfer portal recruiting this week, hosting another group of priority visitors over the next couple of days. The Wolfpack has already added four commitments from a pair of linebackers and two cornerbacks.

Temple cornerback Jamel Johnson, Norfolk State linebacker AJ Richardson, Missouri cornerback Jaren Sensabaugh and Temple linebacker Tra Thomas will all join the program this week in time to go through winter workouts and spring practice with the Wolfpack.

After losing four potential starters in the Pack secondary to the transfer portal, the staff moved quickly to replace the production lost with one experienced veteran who should be able to contribute immediately (Johnson) and a promising freshman with four years of eligibility (Sensabaugh).

Even though NC State could add more talent to its defense in the next couple of days, The Wolfpacker Show figured now was a good time to record an episode to update fans as to what’s going on in the portal. Noah Fleischman and Ethan McDowell broke down the Pack’s latest transfer recruiting efforts.

During this episode of The Wolfpacker Show…

*** The hosts kicked off this week’s episode with a quick discussion on NC State’s coordinator hires. Both defensive coordinator D.J. Eliot and offensive coordinator Kurt Roper have extensive coaching experience at the Power Four level and should help the program on the recruiting trail.

*** Then, Noah and Ethan shared their takes on each of the four defensive portal additions. Both hosts believe Richardson and Thomas could make an immediate impact in the Wolfpack linebacker room. The latter offers a particularly interesting edge-rushing skill set that should help the program if it plans to switch up its defensive scheme.

*** Ethan and Noah see Johnson as a likely starter for the Wolfpack in 2025 and explained why. Sensabaugh should also compete for reps.

*** To wrap up the show, they previewed a couple of upcoming visits before giving a quick recap on where things stand with the NC State men’s and women’s basketball programs.
