The Wolfpacker Show: NC State football, recruiting and ACC realignment
There has been a lot going on around NC State football in the past week. On Saturday, the Pack anxiously awaits news from On3 Industry four-star receiver Terrell Anderson from Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley High, and other developments from the trail could be forthcoming.
Then there were the rumors swirling about the future of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Will the league adds Cal, SMU and Stanford, or perhaps just Cal and Stanford? What about Florida State and the Seminoles’ future in the conference?
Then, of course, is the actual preparation for the upcoming 2023 football season, which is less than three weeks away. NC State kicks off Thursday, Aug. 31 on the road against Connecticut. Last week marked the start of fall camp, during which the media was able to see the opening portions of the first practice.

TheWolfpacker.com duo of Matt Carter and Ethan McDowell discussed many topics related to all of those happenings.
Among the subject matters in the latest edition of TheWolfpacker Show:
• How good should NC State football recruiting fans feel about potentially adding Anderson to the recruiting class a week after landing On3 Industry four-star wideout Jonathan Paylor from Burlington (N.C.) Cummings High.
• If NC State lands Anderson, what would be left on the football recruiting board at the wide receiver position? Might the squeeze be on to fill up on the few remaining spots at the position in the class.
• Anderson is one of the few remaining in-state NC State football recruiting targets among the current seniors. What’s the latest on another, On3 Industry three-star offensive lineman Tyler West from Andrews High?
• What were the impressions made on both Carter and McDowell from the opening NC State practice? Both were particularly enthused by one true freshman who seems poised to make a big impact in year one for the Wolfpack.
• What is there to make of the ACC’s apparent deliberations about adding Cal, SMU and Stanford this past week? Does adding them make sense for the league, or does the conference look panicky and desperate? Both Carter and McDowell had similar thoughts on the matter.
