Jonathan Paylor, the No. 4 recruit in North Carolina, officially committed to NC State Friday evening. The elite four-star receiver announced his decision in front of friends and family at Burlington (N.C.) Cummings High.

NC State was one of five finalists going into the decision, joining South Carolina, Penn State, Maryland and North Carolina. Down the stretch of his recruitment, the Wolfpack and Gamecocks emerged as the main contenders in his recruitment before the Pack won out.

NC State landed its second commit of the day Friday evening from Josh Alexander-Felton, a top priority class of 2024 defensive line prospect. The three-star recruit picked the Wolfpack during a ceremony at Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater High.

Alexander-Felton committed to NC State from a top-five list that included Pittsburgh, UCF, Maryland and Georgia Tech. He officially visited the Wolfpack June 16-18. That was his first official of the summer before traveling to see the Terrapins the following week.

TheWolfpacker.com duo of Matt Carter and Ethan McDowell break down the two decisions in a reaction podcast.

Among the topics discussed include a detailed examination of Paylor’s decision and what it means for NC State. Paylor is the most highly ranked recruit to potentially sign with the Wolfpack since the heralded 2018 class.

Furthermore, how Paylor could be the start of a potentially exciting class of wide receivers, a pleasant development for NC State football recruiting fans who were concerned with the recruiting board at the position mere months ago.

The two also discuss how Alexander-Felton may be the final defensive line recruit in the class, and why Alexander-Felton is also likely to be a good fit for the NC State defensive line.
