The Wolfpacker Show: NC State is rolling after Wake Forest win
NC State snapped its losing streak in Winston-Salem Saturday afternoon with a wire-to-wire win over Wake Forest. The 26-6 final score might not even truly illustrate the Wolfpack’s high level of play throughout the win.
From the first drive of the game, the result was never in doubt. NC State rushed for a season-high 268 yards, led by graduate student quarterback Brennan Armstrong (96 rushing yards, 111 passing yards) and scored touchdowns on 3 of its first 4 drives.
After the game, Ethan McDowell and Noah Fleischman sat down for another episode of The Wolfpacker Show to share their thoughts on the win.
The Pack stands 7-3 on the season, securing another winning season for the program and head coach Dave Doeren.
In this episode, Noah and Ethan talked about:
*** Their initial takeaways from the Wolfpack’s victory, trying to emphasize just how dominant the ACC win was. NC State held Wake Forest to 7 rushing yards and just 1 third-down conversion. The hosts discussed that impressive showing and talked about the unit’s improvement over the past month.
*** They also broke down Armstrong’s first game back in the starting lineup, praising his approach to his original benching and his return to the starting lineup. He played loose and composed against Wake Forest, delivering a difficult touchdown pass that stood out to both hosts.
*** Ethan and Noah also shared their respective turning points in the matchup. This was a straightforward, complete win for the Wolfpack, so they both selected key moments that happened very early in the contest.

*** After a quick break, Noah and Ethan handed out some game balls, recognizing Armstrong, senior linebacker Jaylon Scott, who paced the Wolfpack with 8 tackles, and others.
*** Then, the hosts looked forward to the final 2 games of the regular season. Standing 7-3, NC State is mathematically eliminated from the ACC Championship game, but the elusive 10-win milestone remains in play for the program if it wins out.
*** Noah and Ethan both shared their respective takes on the outlook for the team’s final 2 regular season games. Both hosts expressed confidence in the program but pointed out that Virginia Tech’s home environment will provide a stronger test than Wake Forest.
