Spring is almost here, beginning an incredibly busy stretch of the year across the NC State athletic department. The Wolfpack basketball programs are entering the home stretch of the regular season, football spring practice starts in less than two weeks and baseball’s opening day is Friday.

With so much happening around Raleigh right now, The Wolfpacker Show taped another episode and talked about a few teams.

NC State men’s basketball is on a two-game losing streak after dropping matchups with Pittsburgh and Wake Forest. With just a handful of regular season matchups left, the Pack needs to win a road contest against Clemson this weekend to remain in the NCAA Tournament picture. The program’s margin for error is pretty much nonexistent at this point.

Wolfpack women’s basketball lost at home for the first time in nearly a year, dropping a showdown against rival ACC contender Virginia Tech last week. Then, NC State bounced back with a blowout win over Pittsburgh despite graduate forward Mimi Collins’ apparent leg injury.

The football program kicks off spring practice Feb. 27. NC State has a lot of questions to answer going into this critical stretch of the offseason, welcoming a talented group of newcomers to the roster.

In addition to those sports, Pack baseball head coach Elliot Avent is rapidly approaching the 1,000-career win mark, which adds even more intrigue to the start of baseball season. NC State begins its 2024 campaign with a series against VCU.

During this episode, Noah and Ethan talked about:

*** Their takes on the men’s basketball team’s recent losses, outlining what went wrong for the Pack down the stretch of both defeats.

*** With a matchup against Clemson scheduled for Saturday, the hosts agreed that this is a must-win game for the program. The Tigers have beaten the Pack in their past six matchups.

*** Noah and Ethan then talked about the women’s basketball program and explained why the Virginia Tech loss was nothing to be concerned about. They recapped the Pittsburgh win and discussed the potential impact of Collins’ injury.

*** After a quick break, the hosts previewed NC State football’s spring practice and discussed a couple of pressing questions facing the program right now.

*** To wrap up the show, Noah shared his take on the Wolfpack baseball program going into the 2024 season.
