The Wolfpacker Show: NC State tight end preview
It’s almost time for NC State to open fall camp ahead of the 2024 football season. As the team prepares to return to the gridiron, TheWolfpacker.com is previewing each position group with in-depth reporting and features.
This week is all about the tight end and offensive line groups. The Wolfpacker Show, hosted by Ethan McDowell and Noah Fleischman, broke down NC State’s tight ends during the preview podcast series.
In this episode, the hosts discussed:
– Who left the tight end room after the 2023 season and who the Wolfpack replaced them with going into the new campaign this fall. The Pack had four tight ends leave — mostly through the transfer portal — and it brought in a pair of transfers to bolster the group.
– UConn transfer tight end Justin Joly paces the group as the headlining new addition to the position. Joly caught 56 passes for 578 yards and two touchdowns during his sophomore campaign with the Huskies.

– After the depth chart, Ethan and Noah analyzed the impact that both transfers — JUCO tight end Dante Daniels and Joly — will have this year. They also looked at the jump that sophomore Juice Vereen could make this fall as well.
– The hosts also talked about what excites them about the tight ends and what makes each of them hesitant about the position group. Both points that were made were not shocking when looking at the position group as a whole.
– To end the show, the hosts took a few questions from TheWolfpacker.com subscribers about the tight end room and answered them. More of those questions will be available in a mailbag later this week.
