For the second time in three years, NC State football defeated Clemson and brought the Textile Bowl trophy back to Raleigh. The Wolfpack picked up a 24-17 win over the Tigers, thanks to a disciplined and, at times, explosive performance.

NC State now sits 5-3 on the year with four games remaining— two at home and two on the road. Coming out of the bye week, the Pack clearly reflected on its prior performances and made improvements against the Tigers.

After constantly putting itself behind the sticks during the loss to Duke, the offense only committed 1 penalty. The offensive line committed 0 infractions. NC State also finished the game with 0 turnovers while forcing 2 on defense. Those Clemson miscues turned into 14 Pack points and helped decide the game.

Following the ACC victory, Ethan McDowell and Noah Fleischman sat down to share their take on the win. In this episode, they discussed:

*** Their initial reactions to the exciting win. In all three phases, NC State made timely plays in critical moments. The offense finished with 3 explosive plays, but that did not hold back a unit that played very sound fundamental football and minimized mistakes. Noah and Ethan also complimented a really impressive atmosphere at Carter-Finley Stadium.

*** Then, Ethan and Noah each shared their turning point for the win. They each effusively praised the Wolfpack’s pick six, touting linebacker Devon Betty’s pass deflection and linebacker Payton Wilson’s run to the end zone. Ethan also pointed out safety Devan Boykin’s interception in the first quarter followed by a long run by wide receiver Kevin Concepcion. That sequence set the tone for the win.

*** After a quick break, the hosts broke down their respective players of the game, recognizing standout showings from redshirt sophomore Sean Brown, Wilson and others.

*** To wrap up the show, Noah and Ethan took a look at the program’s remaining four games. Both hosts feel very optimistic about the final third of the season. Bowl eligibility is well within reach, and the ACC championship game is technically still on the table.

All of those topics and more are discussed on Sunday’s show, which is available in audio and video on TheWolfpacker.com’s YouTube channel.
