The Wolfpacker Show: Breaking down NC State's matchup with UVA
NC State football hits the road for the second time this season Friday, opening its ACC slate with a matchup against Virginia. The winless Cavaliers are 0-3 on the season and will welcome former quarterback Brennan Armstrong back to Charlottesville, Va., this week.
In the days leading up to the game, The Wolfpacker Show hosts Ethan McDowell and Noah Fleischman scouted UVA and took a look at some key matchups and metrics before hopping on the microphones to discuss the upcoming conference matchup.
After starting the season 2-1 with wins over VMI and UConn, NC State has a chance to begin ACC play on a high note and set up an intriguing Sept. 29 primetime matchup with Louisville.
Virginia has not named a starting quarterback for the contest. FCS transfer Tony Muskett started the year before freshman Anthony Colandrea took over due to injury. Neither signal-caller has been ruled out for the contest, so the Pack will prepare for two different players under center.
In his most recent performance, a 42-14 loss to Maryland, Colandrea threw interceptions on three consecutive possessions.

During this episode, The Wolfpack Show discussed:
*** UVA’s options at quarterbacks and why NC State matches up well with both of them.
*** A pair of dynamic wide receivers who could challenge the Wolfpack defensive backs.
*** A disruptive UVA defensive front that could collapse the pocket on Armstrong.
*** How Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa used his legs to extend plays and buy time in the pocket against the Cavaliers. The hosts explained how that strategy could work for Armstrong as well.
*** Ethan and Noah made a couple of bold predictions for the matchup, including another special teams touchdown for the Pack, and picked the game’s leaders in several categories before forecasting the final score of the contest.
All of those topics and more are discussed on Wednesday’s show, which is available on audio and video on TheWolfpacker.com’s YouTube channel.
