The Wolfpacker Show: NC State vs. Clemson preview
NC State football travels to Clemson this week for its second clash with a top 25 opponent this season. The No. 21-ranked Tigers are 1-1 this season and spent last week on a bye, while the Wolfpack recovered from a halftime deficit to defeat Louisiana Tech.
It’s time for another Textile Bowl Clash. After the Wolfpack reclaimed the trophy for the second time in three years, the Tigers want to keep their two-decade winning streak inside Death Valley going. Clemson’s lone win of the season was a dominant 66-20 victory over Appalachian State.
The Pack is a 20.5-point underdog going into this matchup after losing to Tennessee earlier this season and winning games against Western Carolina and Louisiana Tech. This will also be NC State’s first true road game of the season. Kickoff is scheduled for noon, and ABC has the broadcast.
To preview this Week 4 showdown, Ethan McDowell and Noah Fleischman sat down to record another episode of The Wolfpacker Show.
In this episode of The Wolfpacker Show…
*** Noah and Ethan shared their initial thoughts on the matchup between the Wolfpack and Tigers. It’s tough to have any big picture takeaways on this iteration of Clemson football because its first two games could not have been more different.

**** Both hosts agreed that the betting line that declares NC State a 20.5-point underdog is a bit too high, even as the Pack prepares to start true freshman quarterback CJ Bailey inside of one of college football’s loudest atmospheres.
*** Then, they previewed this matchup on both sides of the ball. NC State bothered quarterback Cade Klubnik last year with effective blitzes. Can the Wolfpack replicate that success this year? Running back Phil Mafah is off to a great start this year, and NC State will have to play its A-game to slow him down. Offensively, the visitors need to find a way to generate a rushing attack and support Bailey, who the hosts have high expectations for.
*** Ethan and Noah then made their final predictions for this matchup, forecasting who will lead the team in rushing, receiving and tackling Saturday afternoon. Then, they wrapped up the episode by picking the final score of this ACC clash.
