The Wolfpacker Show: NC State’s transfer portal activity is in full swing
NC State’s Military Bowl preparations are well underway with its bout against East Carolina set for Dec. 28 at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis, Md. But while the Wolfpack works toward the postseason contest, it has also been busy in the transfer portal during the past week and a half.
The Pack has hosted several transfer portal targets since the portal opened, while it landed its first two commitments of the cycle this week. The Wolfpacker Show breaks it all down and more on this week’s edition of the weekly podcast.
In this episode, the hosts discussed:
– NC State’s success in keeping the roster intact moving forward. The Wolfpack garnered about 50 commitments from current players to return to the program for the 2025 season through the 1Pack NIL Collective and Savage Wolves. Freshman quarterback CJ Bailey credited it best when he talked about his reasoning, citing money wasn’t a factor, but being developed and making it to the NFL was his top priority.
– While NC State was able to keep its core together, that will be key moving forward. The Pack only lost sophomore wideout Kevin “KC” Concepcion as a key starter who departed the program with eligibility remaining, keeping the rest of its playmakers locked in for the future. Ethan and Noah talked about how that will be beneficial during the Military Bowl, as well as in spring practice as the team prepares for a crucial 2025 campaign — especially on the offensive side of the ball.

– After the hosts talked about NC State’s ability to retain its top talent, they broke down the first two transfer portal commitments the Wolfpack was able to obtain. The Pack nabbed Utah State tackle Teague Andersen and North Carolina A&T interior offensive lineman Brock Stukes from the portal to bolster the line depth moving forward. Can one of them play a key role as soon as next season? Ethan and Noah discussed if so and why.
– Where to next? The transfer portal is an ever-evolving beast at this time of the year, so the Wolfpack has to remain on its toes over the next few days to remain aggressive through the weekend. What positions will the Wolfpack focus on now that it has a couple transfer commitments already? Ethan and Noah each picked one spot on the roster where they believed the Pack could add talent.
