The Wolfpacker Show: Previewing NC State baseball, women’s basketball’s upcoming slate

The Wolfpacker Show is back. After a brief break, the podcast is back to talk about all things NC State Athletics. This week’s show is focused on Wolfpack baseball returning to the field for the 2025 campaign, while NC State women’s basketball is in the middle of a six-game gauntlet.
Podcast host Noah Fleischman was joined by Andrew Sanders, the radio voice of both programs, to break down what caught his eye on baseball’s opening weekend and to preview a big slate of games for both the Pack9 and women’s basketball.
NC State baseball will play three games in the Jax College Baseball Classic against Ohio State, Alabama and Coastal Carolina, while Pack women’s basketball is set to visit No. 20 Georgia Tech on Thursday before it hosts No. 1 Notre Dame this weekend.
The Wolfpacker Show breaks it all down and more on this week’s edition of the podcast.
In this episode, The Wolfpacker Show discussed:
– Andrew’s initial takeaways from NC State’s opening series sweep of Fordham, which featured three run-rule victories for the Wolfpack. What caught his eye and what are some things that might be a little worrisome in the early parts of the year?

– Then, Noah and Andrew discussed VCU transfer Chris McHugh, who is off to a red-hot start to kick off his Wolfpack career. McHugh is 7-for-14 with a double, a home run, a team-best nine RBI and three walks through his first four games in Raleigh.
– Before switching gears, the duo also talked about the Pack’s pitching staff in the early stages of the season. What’s it like to see senior right-hander Matt Willadsen back on the mound, while who had the best start from the weekend? It’s all discussed here.
– Once the baseball conversation was over, it was all about NC State women’s basketball, who is in the middle of playing five ranked teams in the course of six games. The Pack beat then- No. 10 Duke and then-No 22 Florida State to begin the month before falling to No. 12 UNC this past weekend. NC State, led by star guard Aziaha James, has a quick turnaround this week to visit the Yellow Jackets before the top-ranked Irish visit Reynolds Coliseum. Noah and Andrew previewed that heavyweight bout, which will feature ESPN’s College GameDay before tipoff.
