It’s another weekend in June, and NC State baseball is still playing. The No. 10 Wolfpack is back in the Super Regional round for the first time since 2021 as it prepares to compete against No. 7 Georgia at Foley Field in Athens, Ga.

The Wolfpacker Show, hosted by Noah Fleischman, was joined by DawgsHQ’s Palmer Thombs and they taped another episode to preview NC State baseball’s Super Regional at Georgia this weekend.

In this episode, the hosts discussed:

– This marks the first NCAA Super Regional for Georgia since 2008. When it last played in this round, the Bulldogs hosted NC State and advanced to the College World Series in three games. Georgia ended up as the runner-up that year.

– Palmer recapped how Georgia got to this point in the NCAA Tournament. The Bulldogs went 3-0 in the Athens Regional with wins over Army, UNCW and Georgia Tech en route to this weekend. He walked the listeners through the Bulldogs’ path and how Georgia needed a come-from-behind win to beat the Yellow Jackets in the regional final this past Sunday night.

– After showing how Georgia made it to Super Regionals, Palmer described the impact Bulldogs slugger Charlie Condon has had this season. The former walk-on leads the country in batting average (.445), slugging percentage (1.036) and home runs (36) this spring, and will be a focal point for NC State’s pitching staff.

– In addition to Condon, Palmer brought up a few other hitters that could present a problem for the Wolfpack this weekend.

– Following a hitting breakdown, Palmer described Georgia’s pitching situation this season, which was similar to how NC State’s arms improved as the season went on. But the Bulldogs may not have the same amount of bullpen depth that the Wolfpack boasts, and one key Georgia pitcher may be questionable for this weekend’s games.

– To close out the show, Palmer talked about what NC State fans can expect from Foley Field for the games and the town of Athens that the Wolfpack faithful will be able to explore with the noon start times on Saturday and Sunday.
