The Wolfpacker Show: Previewing NC State vs. Western Carolina
By Noah Fleischman
NC State is set to welcome Western Carolina to Carter-Finley Stadium on Thursday night to open the 2024 campaign, a highly anticipated season for the Wolfpack.
The Pack, led by graduate quarterback Grayson McCall and sophomore wide receiver Kevin “KC” Concepcion, is looking to get off to a hot start ahead of its Week 2 bout with Tennessee in Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium.
In this episode, the hosts discussed:
– The Wolfpack’s first depth chart of the 2024 season. While there were not many surprises coming out of fall camp, both Ethan and Noah talked about the Wolfpack’s newest blocking tight end, who may have been a shock to some.
– The hosts also talked about the competitive depth NC State has on its roster this season. There are not too many “OR” designations on the depth chart, but the Wolfpack has a plethora of talent that can play, if needed, this fall.
– Noah shared his take on what having an “OR” by the Wolfpack’s long snappers this year could mean on the field.

– Ethan and Noah then dove into what makes Western Carolina an intriguing FCS opponent. While the Catamounts’ defense likely will not present too tall of a task for the Wolfpack offense, Western Carolina’s offense could pose some challenges for NC State’s defense. The Catamounts averaged 37.5 points a game last season with 254.82 passing yards a contest behind signal-caller Cole Gonzales.
– NC State’s ability to execute under the lights will be a key piece to keep an eye on this week. Ethan and Noah each shared what they were looking for from the Wolfpack offense and defense in the season opener.
– They closed the show by predicting who will lead the Wolfpack in rushing, receiving and tackles against Western Carolina on Thursday night.
