NC State football welcomes Louisville to Carter-Finley Stadium Friday night for a showdown that could help set the course for the program’s season. The Wolfpack stands 3-1 on the year with its lone loss coming against Notre Dame, and Louisville enters the contest undefeated at 4-0.
After scoring 56 points against Boston College last week, their second time reaching that mark this fall, the Cardinals take a ton of offensive momentum with them into this ACC Showdown. NC State’s defense is giving up 21.8 points per matchup, while Louisville is averaging 43 points over first 4 games.
The Wolfpacker Show hosts Ethan McDowell and Noah Fleischman spent the week watching the Cardinals, picking up on certain trends and identifying the key players to watch in this matchup.
Louisville quarterback Jack Plummer is one of the top deep ball passers in the country and has already thrown for 1,120 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. Jamari Thrash is an electric wide receiver and Plummer’s No. 1 target on offense. He leads the Cardinals with 400 receiving yards, averaging 21.1 yards per catch. Running back Jawhar Jordan also paces the ACC with 478 rushing yards.
On this episode, Noah broke down the upcoming matchup for the Wolfpack. Topics discussed include:
*** Their initial thoughts on Louisville and their takeaways from watching the Cardinals play earlier this season.
*** Each host shared their concerns for this game, mentioning Louisville’s explosive offense. NC State’s defense cannot afford to make many mistakes against this dynamic group.
