How Mitchell ended up at NC State
Mitchell generated interest from numerous Power Five and Group of Five programs, and he ultimately cut his list of 17 offers down to three in July. He chose NC State over Maryland and East Carolina after taking official visits to all three schools.
The offensive lineman picked the school close to home, even though Maryland was his last stop on his official visit tour. Mitchell visited NC State in mid-June and he committed a couple weeks later.
Why Mitchell picked NC State
“I feel like I fit right in,” Mitchell said. “The first time I went, I didn’t get to see the rest of campus and everything, but it’s pretty cool. The people out there are great, great environment, very caring people.”
