4-star offensive lineman Tyler West signs with NC State
It did not take long for offensive lineman Tyler West to pick up major Division I offers once his recruitment found its way in full swing this spring. It started with an offer from Sun Belt Conference power Appalachian State, and quickly blossomed into a handful of ACC offers.
NC State was joined by Duke and Georgia Tech as the main competition for the towering offensive lineman’s services, but in the end, the Wolfpack prevailed to land the in-state three-star recruit in July.
West, the No. 31 recruit in North Carolina and a four-star by On3, signed with NC State on Wednesday, which was the early national signing day around college football.

The offensive lineman always thought of the Wolfpack, which was a sign for him. He is a big family person, and he felt at home in Raleigh, even though it is more than five overs from his hometown of Andrews, N.C.
Why West picked NC State
“Coach [Garett] Tujague and coach [Dave] Doeren went out of their way to reach out to my family and answer any questions they had,” West said. “They definitely showed the love and the energy and definitely made me feel like a priority.”
“The sky’s the limit,” West said. “We can be as great as we want to be. It’s going to be special there.”
