NC State’s alarm clocks went off early on Wednesday morning. The team was set to depart from Doak Field at 3:30 a.m. to catch a cross-country flight to the San Francisco Bay Area for its first-ever three-game series at ACC newcomer Cal.  While the team’s travel day started earlier than expected for the Easter Weekend series, which ran from Thursday through Saturday, NC State didn’t seem jet lagged on the West Coast. Instead, it looked like a team that was determined to leave the Pacific time zone with another conference series win.  It did more than that.  The Wolfpack boarded its plane back to Raleigh on Saturday with its first ACC series sweep of the year after it beat the Golden Bears 9-0, 7-6 and 5-2 to vault up the conference standings, just one game back from first place. NC State has now won five of its six league weekend series to emerge as a team to be reckoned with in the ACC.  Here is what we learned from the Pack’s sweep.
